Arts and Wellbeing and Mental Health

 

 1997- 2005: South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (SLAM

The documentation for this programme is currently housed in a large selection of portfolios. I am happy to arrrange a viewing.

Specialising in mental health and wellbeing: designing and implementing creative strategies to improve recovery; managing approximately 2000 participatory workshops, events and training programmes for adults.

 Developed and delivered an extensive artist in residence programme enabling service users to engage with arts based practice. Artists (including myself), worked in the following settings:

Intensive, acute, community wards

hostels and forensic services

community services, drop- in's

Elderly Services

Early Onset and Adolescent services

Projects ranged from Music, Visual Arts, Sculpture, Craft, Poetry, Drama, Film

Enhancing mood through environmental design: Designing and delivering a major rebuild project to include new arts commissions- 95 and 25 bed units at bethlem Royal Hospital and Lambeth.

 

1999- 2002: Lambeth Healthcare NHS Trust

Large-scale project with 2000 children and young people across 3 boroughs to design and deliver engagement programmes and enhance new build at Mary Sheridan Centre (Wooden Spoon House).

Programme of engagement with Older People with mental health problems and community settings, refugees.
