PLaying DIY Happiness Games

We ran threes sessions on Sunday 23 rd April 2012, of DIY Happiness at Pump House Gallery, Battersea Park, as part of an event exploring elements of Transition Town Tooting. In this event, we were exploring how we need to build our personal wellbeing in terms of community resilince to meet the challenging times ahead.

Three very different groups explored the 6 keys to happiness that this project cover: Mind, Planet, Spirit, People, Body, Place. Some of the discussions were quite emotional, with participants thinking about family members far away. Recipes were swapped, tips added and a great name 'Freegal" explored (frugality and foraging combo!)

Many of us would like to be a little happier and just need a few ideas and some encouragement. Well London‘s DIY Happiness has been designed and developed with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Uscreates is designed to do just that. It gives people a few tips; some provided by Londoners themselves and others based on ‘the science of happiness’.
