    Local Commissioning supported through innovation

Local Commissioning supported through innovative appraoches

TAP Arts in with Participation Agency is supporting Lambeth CCG Older People's Services and SLIC (Southwark and Lambeth Integrated care) on 'PROJECT SMITH' to devise an innovative approach to co- produce ways in which local communities could engage with the commissioning process.

1) A vibrant conversation between local people and groups was structured around artifacts and vintage objects to promote discussions and trigger new and exciting ways to collaborate on ideas for small grant applications. Ideas generated included: older people's activities in the local launderette to address social isolation and enabling people to connect; a local kitchen project connecting with a group who worked with older people's food memories to produce a small book.

The small grants funded around 20 local projects in 2015 and were seen as a pilot to potential extended funding which is now being launched borough-wide  in October for the 2016/17 programme

2) Local people, stakeholders and commissioners were then brought together in Open Space for a day to discuss 'How can we work together to improve the wellbeing of people in Cold Harbour and Vassal (the pilot area in lambeth), with a follow up to capture actions and champions to take these forward. The top priority was to save the local library for use as a wellbeing hub.

"Very interesting so many ways to work together such good connections and links"
