Training courses for Artists and Art Therapists

• To provide a framework for artists and art therapists to assess and develop their practice in a wide range of social contexts.
• Explore different perspectives of art therapies, arts and health, focusing on mental health
• Explore the newly developing arena of wellbeing and positive psychology within context of the arts
• Dispel some myths
• Explore ways of understanding engagement and participation and how to work effectively with different service users
• Reflect on different approaches
Delivery and Participation
• The trainers are all specialised practitioners in their field, they know their audience well and have years of experience in this sector.
• Solution focused approach and skills exchange methods focusing on situations that artists/ therapist had either feared or actually faced in practice.
• The emphasis is on participation as the central training methodology; particularly the use of arts based training techniques and methods.
